What is a Testimony?
Have you ever read a book or watched a movie that used the words “inspired by a true story”? Aren’t those usually some of the best stories? I think so too.
That’s why I started this blog, Testimony is True. So what is a testimony? One way to describe it is a true story … with a twist. Allow me to explain.
We all are familiar with what a story is. It has a beginning, middle and an end. It has characters. It has some kind of moral or message, and there is always a conflict involved.
There are authors who have built their careers on being able to dream up and narrate compelling stories, but do you know who the ultimate author is?
The creator of the universe himself – God.
He is the author of all true stories, and that is the secret ingredient that makes them so great. But not all true stories are testimonies. So what’s the difference?
The answer is faith. All testimonies have the same underlying message: God is great. It really is that simple.
So to boil it all down:
Testimony = Real + Faith + Story
That’s what this blog is all about: real faith stories. I hope you take away something meaningful from each one. Each story I share here is meant as a gift from me to you, through God’s glory, power and grace. Thank you for reading, and I hope you keep coming back to see what’s new.
Mission Verse
“The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe.” – John 19:35
